A Trick or a Treat?

Here are a few Halloween pictures! Erica wasn't excited to get her picture taken, so we didn't get many of her. She did enjoy her candy though - suckers seem to be her favorite this year. In case you can't tell, that adorable turtle is Grady and the cute little purple unicorn is Erica....

Here's Erica goofing around with Dad....
And for your listening pleasure - Erica has a new song! We call it "I'm a Princess"

Pumpkins and Punkins!

We recently took our third annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch! Both kids seemed to have a good time - Grady enjoyed being outside and Erica loved looking at all the pumpkins. She especially liked the "baby pumpkins"!

Here is our only family photo from the trip - we're actually all looking at the camera!

So happy to be outside!

Pumpkins also make good chairs!

Enjoying the leaves and sunshine!

One of the many pumpkins she wanted to carry

Erica and Dad discussing their pumpkin options

Taking 'em to the truck!

In other news - Grady turned 6 months old and had his first taste of "solid" food! We gave him some rice cereal and got a cute reaction out of it. See for yourself!

We'll have to keep trying....

And one last cute picture. Erica loves to climb into Grady's crib - even if he's sleeping. I just couldn't resist these matching camo jammies...aren't they adorable!

Hello Owwendare!

Listen to what Erica has been up to the last few days!

Yup - we said "goodbye diapers" and "hello owwendare!" Erica is doing a pretty good job with potty training! She's had a couple of accidents, but is starting to tell us when she needs to go. We're hoping that she sticks with this - buying diapers for two hasn't been fun!
Here's one of my favorite summer pictures of the kids. Erica loves wearing her sunglasses and was very excited to see that Grady had a pair too!
Another classic summer picture. Erica loved her corn on the cob!
Look how blue his eyes are! I think he may get the red hair too!

Future Gopher? Looks like he has the attitude down!

Summertime!

The summer has just flown by! We've had a great time and have been keeping busy. Erica goes to daycare one day each week so she can play with her friends and I can have a "catch up" day. We also go to the library every Friday morning for story time. The picture below shows Erica's favorite thing to do at the library:
She loves to sit at the computer and put the headphones on. I think she's trying to be like Grandma Diane! We also went to many baseball games this summer. We're disappointed that the season is over, but Erica and Grady sure had fun while it lasted! Grady has many baseball outfits and has been Daddy's biggest fan this summer:
Many weekends have been spent at the lake in Bemidji. Erica loves being outside and has really enjoyed her time there this year. Grady's been a pretty good sport about it all! Next year he'll enjoy the lake a bit more :)

One evening we took a little trip to Wahpeton to see the zoo. Erica had a great time seeing all the animals. This bear seems to be pretty fond of little redheads:Grady still sleeps a lot, but his awake times are full of smiles and squeals. His smiles are quick to come and brighten the mood of anyone around him. He saves his biggest smiles for Erica - he sure loves playing with her!
Bathtime is usually fun for Grady. Erica likes to be my helper - good thing because she can help me get good tub pictures! I often only get screams and tears from Grady if it's just us!
Grady has taken after his big sister and is also a thumb sucker. I think it's adorable!
We saw Erica trying to be like Grandma Diane...here she is trying to be like Papa Howard. I think we have a future Harley Girl!
We had a fun visit from Great Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. It was such a great time - what lucky kids we have...loved by so many people!
Our big "vacation" this summer was to St. Michael for K.C. and Amanda's wedding. They are great friends of ours and are also Grady's Godparents. We finally got a picture with all of our eyes open! We hope you've enjoyed your summer as much as we've been enjoying ours! Next on our list is to try to potty-train Erica. It would be great if that happened before I went back to work, but I have a feeling it's just wishful thinking. We'll keep you updated!

Hello Field Family Followers! How are you doing today? If you're not having the greatest of days, scroll down.......(I promise it'll be worth it!)

If this didn't just make you smile, you need to go back to bed!!

Grady's smiling and "talking" a lot now. It's so much fun!

Brian ran the relay in the Fargo Marathon. Erica was so proud and cheered "Go Daddy, Go Daddy, Go Daddy" for days after!

Erica enjoys holding Grady and showing him different things. Hopefully they always get along this well!

Michelle went back to work at the end of last week. Wasn't so easy, but only two weeks left before summer break. Grady keeps growing and Erica is a fantastic big sister. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure!

First day back at work

Grady gets lots of kisses!

After bath....when did Erica get so big??

Grady at 6 weeks....still sleeping a lot, but awake a bit more

Grady has been a great sleeper. He sleeps from 11:00pm-6:00am...that's more sleep than I'm getting!
Breakfast time!
Snack time!
What a cutie!

Playing Chiropractor

Some kids play 'house.' Not our little girl - Erica loves to play 'chiropractor!' Check our her little lesson!

Erica still loves having baby Grady home! You can't really tell by these pictures, but he seems to enjoy her, too!

And here is our little guy with his eyes open! He really loves his sleep, so getting a good picture of him wide-eyed is pretty difficult!

Both kids had doctor appointments this week. Erica now weighs 29 lbs and Grady is tipping the scales at 10 lbs 5 oz. Both are healthy and perfect - what a blessing that is!

We have kidS!!

Throughout my pregnancy, I worried about the adjustment going from a family of 3 to a family of 4. I was worried about how Erica would handle everything and if I would be ok with the idea that Erica wasn't my 'baby' anymore. There were some sad moments when I looked at Erica and realized that she's a big girl now, but moving into a family of 4 has been amazing! Grady fits perfectly and Erica loves being a big sister so much! Today she was talking to me while eating snack and said "mommy home?...daddy home?....Erica home?....Gadee home?" She has had an easy time realizing that Grady is here to stay!

I should back up a bit....for those who didn't realize - we had our little boy!! Grady Ward Field was born on Easter Sunday, April 4. That date may seem familiar...it's also Erica's birthday! She turned two and got a little brother! We had Erica's birthday party on Saturday, April 3 and I was having slight contractions at the time. At about 9:00pm they started getting a bit stronger and closer together. Brian and I left for the hospital at 2:30am and got there at about 3:00am. Things moved very quickly and Grady Ward was born at 5:06am and weighed 8lbs 14oz and was 21.75" long. Because he came so quickly, I didn't have time for an epidural...I think I shed some tears when I was told that, but I did it! I feel like SuperWoman!
So the transition is going well and we're a happy family of four! Enjoy the pictures!
